Denied...

a chance to go on tv. *pouts*

The back story to this complaint is:

Last week, we get a mysterious email from the ATLAS Secretariat, asking if there were any Australians at CERN next week, to which the couple of us who are here put our hands up. Then we get asked which of us would be more comfortable on tv, to which our response was that we would both like to be involved if possible.

Of course we are intrigued about what's going on, but have no idea.

We are then cc'ed to an email with the title "List of ATLAS guides for A&D event" which we are listed as "Australian ATLAS people who will be available for Sony Australia next week"

Which is even more confusing. What has Sony Australia got to do with ATLAS?

It was all cleared up today in an apologetic email telling us why we had been removed from the ATLAS guide list for the Angels and Demons press event at CERN tomorrow. It was an administrative misunderstanding, they thought they were allowed 30 ATLAS people, but really the 30 was for all the CERN people, so the number of ATLAS people had to be dropped.

So we got bumped off it. *shrug* It would have been cool, but it's no big loss. Particularly since we had no idea what it was until we weren't part of it anymore. I guess if one of us had bothered to Google 'Sony' 'A&D' and 'CERN' we would have figured it out, but we were kind of at a workshop and still trying to do some SUSY analysis during the talks and we figured we'd find out when we need to.

Trust me; I read the book. I almost didn't finish it because the inaccuracies in the very beginning were so off-putting. They actually said the Z-0 has no mass. NO MASS! Might as well add units to your eigenvalues. =P Guh. *Rant over*
