Some Good News...

So I just got back from yet another visit to the hospital. But for once, it was a fairly pleasant experience. It turned out that my appointment was the last of the day, and I was late to it, so I didn't have to wait too long to see a nurse, or the doctor. And their broken English was more bearable as I was expecting it. And this time nothing hurt too much, since all they did was remove the stitches on my hip and change my dressing and bandages. Though it turns out that both wounds are inflected. I think I didn't keep them dry enough throughout the week. I got prescriptions for the materials to change them myself every day. And the antiboitic cream to spread on it. Would you believe that my finger looks really gruesome and smells awful as well now? I took photos when they left me alone and I was waiting for the doctor, but I won't upload them and gross you all out.

Anyway, the good news is they are pretty sure that they removed all the malignant cells, so I won't have to undergo any more treatment, just a check up in a couple of months, just to be sure (and one next week to check on the progress of my finger). I also asked about what could have caused this melanoma, since we all know that skin cancer is caused by overexposure to ultraviolet radiation, but how could I keep my hands out of the sun or apply sun screen to my nail beds? And it turns out that melanoma in the hands and feet is a genetic predisposition of people from Asia. So I couldn't have done anything to prevent it, though I guess I could have gotten it checked out earlier. But at least I listened to my ex-flatmate and went to the hospital back in July...
