Fête des Lumières

Today a group of us drove out to Lyon for the Fête des Lumières which is how the city celebrates The Feast of the Immaculate Conception. We left in the morning so we could get some sight seeing done since none of us had been to the city before. Here are a few photos from the day.

River
This is a view of the newer parts of the city. I really like the colours of this photo with the reds of the roofs and bridge, the blue of the sky and different coloured apartment blocks.

View
The view of the central area of the city from a hill on which Lyon was founded...

Theatre
...by the Romans, of which there are still some ruins, of which this amphitheatre is the most impressive.

Fete
This was one of the main streets of the Fête, and there were so many people there. It was really nice to be a city, where there was life after dark.

Lights Church
And this was the best light installation of the Fête by far. Look at the accuracy of those lights! And how they add detail to the church where there was none before!
